Blow by blow

So this is a tough one. Not only did it delete the executable files for Avast anti virus, Zone Alarm Pro and Spybot, but it is somehow deleting them at each reboot after I re-install the programs!

I'm at Kapersky.com right now, using the online virus scan. I downloaded and ran the Microsnot Malicious Software tool thingie and it found a proxy program that was feeding me spyware. It killed that so the scan is going rather quicker than when the malware lived.

It just returned no viruses but a lot of locked files that it skipped but that don't sound nice to me. Hmmmm. Shoulda stayed in school...

Aunt Edna has placed a curse upon the virus files and their nefarious creators. Even now their innards and private parts should be bursting into unquenchable flames. Furthermore, their crops will fail, their loved ones will reject them and large, mysterious brown spots will appear upon their well-tended lawns. Let me know if any more incentives to repentence are needed.

It scares me that you can get a virus since I look to you as a Computer GeekGod...what chance do we mere mortals have of avoiding them?? Is this a virus that we should look for at home? Was it infectual on our beloved Panzo as well as on your pc proper?
Your chances of avoiding a virus are increased quadruply if you don't be like me.

I downloaded a crack program that I thought was going to give me a serial number for a program that I didn't want to spend money on. Rather than abiding by my age-old practice of anti-virii scanning it and then opening it up isolated-like, I just clicked on it .

There's no danger that its on Panzo.org.

I didn't get the name of this virus as the online scanner I was using froze up after it detected and disinfected it and I never got to the part where it tells you what it was. :(

Regardless, you all should be scheduling regular virus scans and keeping your spyware killers, anti-virus proggies and your firewalls up-to-date.

And then, don't click on strange executable files downloaded from unknown sources (like I did).

Yessir! I will remember to do as you tell me, not as you do! kinda like my friend Dave who warned our children while we were up North in the wilds of MN that if we saw a moose to walk away and not approach it and then he saw a moose and ran right towards it like a damned fool...like that right?
Almost exactly like that. Except...did the moose delete Dave's firewall? :)
Pinks:
No, just his color. ;)
